Associations thrive when they have the right tools to grow and connect. Gecco was founded to empower organisations with modern technology that clears away the admin clutter and creates space for stronger communities to flourish.
At Gecco, we believe membership organisations deserve technology that works with them, not against them. That belief has shaped who we are since the very beginning.
Founded in 2016, Gecco was born from a simple observation: associations were spending too much time wrestling with paper files, clunky spreadsheets, and outdated systems, instead of focusing on their members. Co-founder Lisa Metcalfe, who has worked with associations since 2004, saw these challenges first-hand while managing memberships, events, and conferences. Every new contract seemed to start with piles of paper and disconnected data, making engagement, growth, and retention harder than it needed to be.
Recognising the need for a smarter, database-driven solution, Lisa partnered with Richard Thomas to create a modern, web-based platform built specifically for membership associations.
Soon after, Kane Haftka joined as a developer and quickly became a driving force behind Gecco’s evolution, helping transform the original idea into today’s flexible, scalable solution that supports associations of all sizes.
Today, Gecco is more than just software. We’re a partner to boards, administrators, and members who want to connect, grow, and thrive. Our platform is built to remove administrative roadblocks, strengthen engagement, and create the space for associations to focus on what really matters, their community.
