Being unable able to process membership subscription payments via credit card was a key reason The Veterinary Association of New Zealand moved on from their previous offshore provider.
“It was causing a lot of extra admin for our team, and a lot of frustration for our members,” explains Richard Anderson, ICT and systems support co-ordinator for the NZVA.
The association, which represents 70% of all practicing vets, went through a commercial RFP process in 2020 to find a new membership software provider, looking at both offshore and local companies.
“After our previous experience, we were keen to be closer to our provider and know that their systems would work in New Zealand. Gecco met all of the criteria - there was pages and pages of it.”

A year on, the relationship is good and there are no work arounds when it comes to credit card payments, with Richard saying: “It has made the membership team very happy.”
Working with Gecco has been enjoyable, and support and training has been very good, says Richard.
“The Gecco team is on hand when I need them, and they got the reporting working the way we needed it to. Gecco doesn’t require much adaptation, compared to our previous provider.”
